Anhad Kaur – the Knowledgeable Kid, recites rhymes, other things

Anhad Kaur (born on February 28, 2017) from Pune, Maharashtra, is appreciated for reciting 35 rhymes, 22 in English and 13 in Hindi, names of ten Sikh Gurus and can give her introduction along with the names of family members, teachers, class and address, at the tender age of 3 years and 4 months, as confirmed on July 14, 2020. This record is approved by the India Book of Records.

On being asked that how Anhad got inspiration to do this all, her mother said, “Anhad has always been a curious child who is inquisitive by nature and likes to explore different things. She has always been very interested in learning about different things and loves listening to stories, rhymes etc.”

It is important to learn that her parents also try to expose her to many different topics as much as possible, be it through books or activities or even during random talks. Even from a very young age, she has been fond of books and keeps herself engaged with them. Because of her curiosity and learning, she possesses an extensive vocabulary and is also a great storyteller which inspired her parents to register her at India Book of Records.

She had recited 35 rhymes in two different languages and replied to few other questions because of which she has grabbed the title of “Knowledgeable Kid”.

How much time she got for practice? Replies her mother, “None can force a three year old kid to memorize something, rather this comes organically. This is something that she has learnt through continuous exposure and learning.”

Her parents have recited rhymes to her ever since she was born. She has learnt quite a few of them in her playschool as well and later when she developed an interest, she learnt many of the poems herself. Even her vocabulary increased because of her exposure to many different topics at such a young age.

An interesting episode happened while she was reciting the rhymes for record creation. She was singing “One Two .. buckle my shoe” and suddenly after “Three Four Shut the door”; she kept reciting “Shut the door, open the door, close the door, what is the door”. At times, she would go into some story mode in between and say “Mumma you know..” Kids have much more learning capacity than we can think of. Expose them to all different things, nurture where their interest lies and then one can only wonder what all they can accomplish. Along with that, it's extremely important to remember that in the process, they would fail a lot many times, but parents need to raise them in a way that kids should not fear failures rather try a little harder next time.”
